Initially I put the chip on with electrician's tape. Once I was sure of the location, I glued it with Weldwood contact cement. This is permanent enough that the chip will never fall off, but it can be removed with solvent.
Now the only thing to figure out is how to get the chip out without breaking the glass case. It looks like it is glued/ interference fitted in there. The reference website advises to use acetone to dissolve the glue. This way you can aviod having to recode the RFID chip located in the plastic housing of the key end.
